Club Pairs Completed

Our Club Pairs Championships are now completed, with the finals of the Major Pairs and Minor Pairs played on Sunday 4th Dec. Well done to all involved in both competitions.

Our Major Pairs Finalists were Geoff Turner & Gregg Stevens up against Matt Grogan and Daniel Ellem. A great game to watch with some exceptional bowls being played. Turner/Stevens got off to an early start with a lead of 13 – 3 on 7 ends. Grogan/Ellem doing their utmost to turn the score around midway, holding multiples on several occasions, but Gregg Stevens showed his resolve drawing the “absoluter” each time! Turner/Stevens taking out the title 24-15.

Well done to our finalists and congratulations to our 22-23 Major Pairs Champions Geoff Turner & Gregg Stevens.

Our Minor Pairs Finalists consisted of Paul Fitzpatrick & Mark Schodde against Len Townsend and Judith Mitrevski. A steady start by both teams saw the scores at 8-7 on 9 ends with Fitzpatrick/Schodde just in front. Fitzpatrick/Schodde handled the changing conditions better, dominating the second half of the game and picking up 21 shots to 3, with a final score of 29-10.

Well done to our finalists and congratulations to our 22-23 Minor Pairs Champions Paul Fitzpatrick and Mark Schodde.

That brings a close to our club championships for 2022. A reminder that our Major and Minor Singles kick off early in the new year. The remainder of our 22-23 club championships include the Mixed Pairs, Major Minor Pairs and Senior Pairs. They’ll be drawn some time in Jan/Feb. The Women’s Club have also made the Consistency Singles and Club Selected events, open gender so keep an eye out for the entry details.
