Social Bowls – Conditions Of Play – 2025

GENERAL

All Social Bowls at Windang will be played in accordance with the Laws and these Conditions of Play.

Situations may arise that are not specifically covered by these Conditions of Play. It is expected that in such circumstances any decision taken will reflect the spirit of these Conditions and embody the ideals of fair play and good sportsmanship supported by good common sense.

SOCIAL BOWLS DAYS ARE NORMALLY RUN AS DESCRIBED BELOW:

TUESDAY PAIRS – 9:30am

  • Eligibility – Open to any affiliated bowler.
  • Entry – Nominated Teams & Online Entry Only – No Single Names Accepted.
  • Attire – mufti – refer to Attire Policy.
  • Format – 4 bowl pairs x 18 ends
  • Start Time – 9:30am
  • Green fees & Prize Money as determined by the Board of Directors. 
  • Maximum Entries – 28 teams (2 greens) – 42 Teams (3 greens)
  • Prizes awarded – First, Second & Third for the highest winning margins on the day.
  • Dead ends – Replayed
  • In the event of multiple teams on the same margin, the match committee reserve the right to use whatever means necessary to determine a winner. E.G. Ends won, highest score for, lowest score against, and so forth.

WEDNESDAY TRIPLES – 9:30am

  • Eligibility – Open to any affiliated bowler.
  • Entry – Open Nominated teams. Single Names Permitted. Online or Nomination Sheet at Club.
  • Attire – mufti – refer to Attire Policy.
  • Format – 3 bowl triples x 18 ends.
  • Start Time – 9:30am
  • Green fees & Prize Money as determined by the Board of Directors. 
  • Prizes awarded – Out of the Hat. 
  • No dead ends – jack re – spotted on tee (2 m mark).

THURSDAY SOCIAL – 9:30am

  • Eligibility – Open to any affiliated bowler.
  • Entry –Single Names Only.Online or Nomination Sheet at Club.
  • Attire – mufti – refer to Attire Policy.
  • Format – As determined on the day.
  • Start Time – 9:30am
  • Green fees & Prize Money as determined by the Board of Directors.

FRIDAY PAIRS – 9:30am

  • Eligibility – Open to any affiliated bowler.
  • Entry – Open Nominated teams. Single Names permitted.Online or Nomination Sheet at Club.
  • Attire – mufti – refer to Attire Policy.
  • Format – 4 bowls pairs x 18 ends.
  • Start Time – 9:30am
  • Green fees & Prize Money as determined by the Board of Directors. 
  • Prizes awarded – Out of the Hat 
  • No dead ends – jack re – spotted on tee (2 m mark).

SATURDAY TRIPLES – 1:00pm

  • Eligibility – Open to any affiliated bowler.
  • Entry – Open Nominated Teams. Single Names permitted. Online or Nomination Sheet at Club.
  • Attire – Any club uniform or BA approved uniform – refer to Attire Policy.
  • Format – 3 bowl triples x 20 ends 
  • Start Time – 1:00pm
  • Green fees & Prize Money as determined by the Board of Directors. 
  • Prizes awarded – Out of the Hat 
  • No dead ends – jack re – spotted on tee (2 m mark).

THE CONTROLLING BODY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO:

  • Alter any of these conditions or formats when play is affected by inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstances.
  • At their discretion to alter the format as required. eg. Fours prior to pennant season.
  • Split teams or move players in order to get everyone a game when rink space is limited.
  • Set the rink allocations when Club Championships and Social Bowls are played together.
  • Suspend players from Social Bowls events for Code of Conduct breaches.
  • Agree to a change in format on the rink to accommodate players with physical or medical conditions that limit their ability. E.G. 4 bowls pairs to 3 bowl pairs

ONLINE ENTRY GUIDELINES

  • Players may enter online via the links on the Social Bowls Web Page.
  • Online Entries normally close at 6:00am on the day of play. The following week’s online entry is generated at the same time.
  • The person providing the email address during entry is the only person that can edit the entry.
  • A list of players is generated after the entry has been submitted, which is available for viewing on the website.
  • As a courtesy, players should always seek confirmation from spare players or incomplete teams on the list, if they intend to submit their name in a team. The Match Committee take no responsibility for any changes made by other players.
  • The Match Committee reserve the right to change teams when players have been submitted in multiple teams. Usually, the first entry submitted according to the time stamp.
  • No email address or contact numbers will be made public. Players may request the contact details from the Bowls Coordinator if required.
  • The online entry sheet takes priority over the written sheet. Players on the written sheet will be added at the end of the online entry list.
  • Players are to contact the Bowls Coordinator if they have difficulties editing their submission.
