Round 1 Open Pennants – Results

Below are the results for Round 1 of the 2022-2023 Open Pennants. At the bottom of the page is our team performance leaderboard.

Our best performed side was Grade 7.1, picking up 9 points against Bomaderry. Well done!

Our best performed team was Team 3 Grade 1 with a 21 shot margin, who also finished on top of the player ladder in Bowlslink.

Encouraging results all round with some close games played. The minimum game plan should be to win the majority of ends, and minimise the losses to no more than 2 shots. All things being equal, achieving any one of these goals improves a teams chance of winning. Achieving both of these goals gives a team the best chance to win the rink and in most cases get the side over the line on the main board. There are good, (and bad) examples of this in the results below. Concentration and focus in the back half of the game is also key to a winning side. As you can see, some games were well within the minimum game plan with great results, only to be “mowed down” with some heavy losses in the second half of the game.
